MANGALORE, NOV. 23. A case of death caused by negligence has been reported at Kombaru in Kamarkaje of Puttur taluk in Kadaba Police Station limits on Monday. The police stated that the brothers Anthony Joseph, Manoj, alias John, and Sabu, alias Thomas, had gone to their rubber plantation to hunt wild boars around 11.30 p.m. last night. Manoj who was said to be carrying a single-barrel breach-loading gun, accidentally fired the weapon during the hunt, injuring Sabu who died on the spot. The Kadaba police have registered a case based on a complaint lodged by Mr. Anthony Joseph.
Drowned
Ganesh Mugera (20) who went for a swim in the Phalguni in Moodbidri Police Station limits reportedly drowned in it on Monday. The police have registered a case based on a complaint from Shankara, his brother.
Burglary
Two unidentified persons tied up the gatekeeper of a theatre here and decamped with Rs. 1.2 lakhs in cash from the office on Monday. According to a complaint lodged with Mangalore North (Bunder) police station, the burglars tied up Sridhar Shetty and took away the cash. Investigations are on.
