HYDERABAD, NOV.23. Official changes continue to take place in the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad with the State Government appointing two new officials in the premier civic body here on Tuesday. The Additional Commissioner (Finance), Ch. Ravindranath, has been shifted as Director of Finance in the Department For International Development (DFID) funded the Andhra Pradesh Urban Finance Infrastructure Development Corporation. The Uppal Municipal Commissioner, Ramesh Babu, has been appointed in place of Mr. Ravindranath. Similarly, the Additional Director of Secunderabad zone, Rajeshwar Rao, has been shifted and replaced by Vema Reddy. With these two postings there have been a total of four new senior officials appointed to the corporation since the Congress Government came to power six months ago. The other appointees have been Harshvardhan as the Additional Commissioner of Works and Dhananjay Reddy as the Additional Commissioner of Projects. The projects works was earlier clubbed with planning and was being looked after by M.V. Satyanarayana. The latter himself was shifted out before being brought back. While the Additional Commissioner of Elections, T. Muralidhar, continues to hold the extra charge of Administration, the Officer on Special Duty post overseeing the Charminar Pedestrianisation Project continues to be vacant. The Additional Commissioner of IT and Estates, T. Vijay Kumar, is presently looking after the project. Rumours are agog in the corporation offices that more changes are in the offing with the municipal elections round the corner at the senior level.
