In tune with jet age
Is there anything wrong in religious heads crossing the seven seas using airplanes and fast, air-conditioned surface transport vehicles?
The question of whether scriptures forbid such behaviour on the part of jeeyars and saints apart, Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati finds nothing wrong with a `swamiji' boarding a jet to fly out to different countries or using air-conditioned vehicles to zip along the nation's highways.
At a press conference here today, he said that swamijis today needed to be fast and effective in their endeavour to propagate peace and religion.
There was no second opinion that preachers of Hindu religion were required to keep up with modern youth who belong to different schools of thought and have varied opinions.
