Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, NOV. 24. Rainfall occurred at a few places over Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and dry weather prevailed over Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are: Nagapattinam 4, Karaikal and Tiruthuraiapoondi (Tiruvarur dt.) 3 each, Tiruvarur and Vedaranyam 2 each and Cuddalore, Chidambaram (Cuddalore dt.), Mannargudi, Muthupet and Nannilam (all Tiruvarur dt.) and Pamban 1 each.

The minimum temperature rose at one or two places over south Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka, fell at one or two places over Rayalaseema and changed a little elsewhere over the region.

They were below normal at a few places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, at one or two places over Telangana, north interior Karnataka, appreciably above normal at one or two places over north Tamil Nadu, above normal at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, north Kerala, rest Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Adilabad and Medak recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 12 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over south Tamil Nadu. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
