Revised pay scales for gram panchayat employees

CHITRADURGA, NOV. 24. The pourakarmikas, class IV employees, and watermen (neeraganti) working under the gram panchayats in the district would now be paid according to the revised pay scales.

G. Chandrappa, chairman of district unit of the Karnataka Neeraganti, Javana and Zadamali Federation, while addressing a protest rally of employees of gram panchayats on Tuesday, said that the chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat, Narayanaswamy, had instructed the executive officers of the taluk panchayat to implement the revised pay scales for various categories of employees under the gram panchayats.

The federation had supported the gram panchayat employees' demand for the implementation of the revised pay scale and launched agitations.

A joint meeting of the office-bearers of the federation, labour leaders, and government officials resolved the issue.
