MYSORE, NOV. 24. The Police Commissioner, Praveen Sood, on Wednesday said anti-social activities in the city would be strictly dealt with. Participating in a "meet-the-press" organised by the Mysore District Journalists Association here, Mr. Sood said the department officials had been directed to register complaints even in minor cases to prevent anti-social activities. The officials had been directed not to get themselves involved in any conciliatory measures when such incidents occurred, he added. He said small offences should not be allowed to go unnoticed. Cases would be booked and case history would be maintained to keep track of those involved in hooliganism.
Animal death
He promised to bring the culprits involved in the death of zoo animals to book. The Police Commissioner said the role of doctors and others entrusted with the responsibility of caring for animals would also come in the ambit of investigation.
31 questioned
So far, he said, 31 persons, both employees and former employees, had been interrogated in cases related to the death of three elephants and a lion tailed macaque. Nine persons had been subjected to poly-graphic tests and brain mapping, he added.
Cameras
Mr. Sood said video cameras had been installed to record traffic violations. Traffic rule offenders would be counselled and fine would be imposed on them for violations. He said that "traffic engineering" and education could help streamline traffic management in the city.
