Chandy to inaugurate birthday meet

THRISSUR, NOV. 24. The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, will inaugurate a meeting at the Kausthubham auditorium here on Friday to felicitate the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) treasurer, C.N. Balakrishnan, on his 70th birthday.

The KPCC president, Thennala Balakrishna Pillai, will preside. The Finance Minister, Vakkom Purushothaman, the Electricity Minister, Aryadan Mohammed, the Water Resources Minister, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, the Sports Minister, Dominic Presentation, the Civil Supplies Minister, Adoor Prakash, the Tourism Minister, K. C. Venugopal, the Cultural Affairs Minister, A. P. Anil Kumar, the UDF convener, P. P. Thankachan, the former KPCC president K. Muraleedharan, Vayalar Ravi, MP, Ramesh Chennithala and V.M. Sudheeran, former MPs, are expected to take part in the meeting.

The senior Congress leader K. Karunakaran would lay the foundation for the C.N. Sapthathi Samskarika Nilayam at Muthuvara, a press release said.
