HASSAN, NOV. 24. The appointment of the former Kerala Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, as AICC (All-India Congress Committee) General Secretary in charge of Karnataka will give an impetus to the efforts to expand the coalition Ministry, the President of the Janata Dal (Secular), H.D. Deve Gowda, has said. Mr. Deve Gowda, who was here on a private visit, told presspersons today that the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, would hold discussions with Mr. Antony and the Ministry would be expanded soon. The former Prime Minister said the Janata Dal (S) had finalised its list of legislators who were to be inducted into the Ministry. Mr. Antony had taken charge of the post only on Tuesday and he would hold discussions with the Chief Minister on the Ministry expansion, which would take place subject to the Congress High Command approving its list of legislators to be accommodated, he said.
