SALEM, NOV. 24. For 32-year-old Babu of Gengavalli in Attur taluk, it was a harrowing experience. Babu was taken for a ride by a person in Gengavalli who promised him a job in Malaysia. After paying Rs. 60,000, Babu was given a visa and sent to Malaysia. Only after reaching there did he know that it was a tourist visa for 15 days. Babu, a tailor by profession, encountered a series of problems and finally returned to India. On his arrival at Gengavalli, he approached the man who sent him to Malaysia and asked his money back. But Babu was told that the money could not be repaid, as he did not work properly in Malaysia. The local police also refused to come to his rescue, he said. He came to Salem today to submit a petition to the SP, Pon Manickavel, seeking his help.
