Birla-Lodha case restarts
By Our Special Correspondent
KOLKATA,
NOV. 24.
The Birla-Lodha legal battle over ownership of the assets of MP Birla resumed today after a five-week gap on account of the Puja vacation at the Calcutta High Court.
Arguing against the submissions made by the Birlas to establish their caveatable interest, Anindya Mitra, counsel to Rajendra Singh Lodha said the international laws cited by the Birla camp were irrelevant in this case.
This was so because the argument advanced by the Birlas that they were co-director, co-trustee or co-owner of property held by the late Priyamvada Devi had no relevance in this case.
This suit comes up for hearing next week.
