Biocon launches Insugen in Tamil Nadu

COIMBATORE: The Bangalore-based Biocon launched here on Wednesday its bio-insulin, Insugen, for sale in Tamil Nadu. It has already been introduced in Bangalore. Stating that this is the first indigenously developed insulin, the President (Marketing) of the company, Ajay Bhardwaj, told presspersons that it was available in all major pharmacies here.

Biocon recently announced a tie-up with the U.S.-based Nobex Corporation to develop oral insulin. It had also entered into a global supply agreement for human insulin with Bristol Myers-Squibb.

Biocon has roped in former Pakistan cricket captain, Wasim Akram, for its campaign against diabetes, titled "Winning with diabetes".
