PONDICHERRY, NOV. 24. The Speaker, M. D. R. Ramachandran, today called upon the Rural Development department to install a plant to produce biodiesel out of jatropha seeds. Addressing farmers at a seminar organised by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) at Tirukanoor near here to spread awareness of the advantages of jatropha cultivation, Mr. Ramachandran said there should be an in-built marketing facility for disposal of the jatropha seeds. Experts from Hyderabad explained the various advantages of raising jatropha.
