Karunanidhi's poser

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, NOV. 24. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president, M. Karunanidhi, wanted to know today whether the bandit Veerappan was actually shot dead or shot at after he was already dead. He said the questions were being raised also by investigative journals. He wanted an investigation into this issue as well.

Answering questions from presspersons here, he said he had never stated the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, had personal dealings with Veerappan.

On the Chief Minister threatening to take legal action against him for having made "baseless statements" Mr. Karunanidhi said he had come across many such threats. If the Chief Minister took action he would face it.
