MANGALORE, NOV. 24. The 37th meeting of the Mangalore Town Official Language Implementation Committee was held at the corporate office of Corporation Bank here on Tuesday. In a press release, Jayanti Prasad Nautiyal, member-secretary of the committee, said the Chairman and Managing Director of the bank, K. Cherian Varghese, presided over the function. Mr. Varghese noted that the committee had been constituted to supervise the implementation of the official language as per the target set by the Union Government. He said perseverance and hard work would make the task of implementing the official language easy for the committee. P.K. Gupta, Executive Director of the bank, appreciated the assistance received from the Regional Implementing Office (RIO), Bangalore, in ensuring that the official language was used more frequently. He stressed on the need to integrate Hindi with technology.
Inputs
Ajay Kumar Srivastav, Assistant Director, RIO, Bangalore, provided inputs and guidance on matters of official language implementation. He clarified many issues pertaining to the functioning of the committee. The Director, Airports Authority of India, Mangalore, M.R. Vasudeva, who was the chief guest, hailed the functioning of the committee. K. Achutha Pai, General Manager of the bank, welcomed the gathering and delivered the introductory remarks. Dr. Nautiyal presented a report on the activities of the committee. He also reviewed the performance of member offices. B.N. Shakuntala, Official Language Officer of the bank, proposed a vote of thanks.
