THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 24 . The City police have intensified search to arrest the prime accused in the rape of a 40-year-old woman hailing from Pozhikunnu in Nemom police station limits, last week. According to the Circle Inspector (Nemom), K.V. Vijayakumar, the police have intensified the search to arrest the first accused Ambili alias Santhosh Kumar. The accused is involved in several burglary cases registered in city police station limits. The police have already arrested three others, including two brothers of Santosh Kumar, in connection with the incident, Mr. Vijayakumar said. Those arrested were Subash, 27, a resident of Mini House, Vettikuzhy, Pappanamcode Industrial Estate, his brother Satheesh Kumar, 32, and Shamir, 27, a resident of Ismail Manzil, Koleycode, Pappanamcode Industrial Estate. All three were produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate I (Neyattinkara) on Monday and remanded.
Woman injured
A 27-year-old woman, Ajithakumari of Vellayani, sustained burns after a flash of lightning struck her on Wednesday evening. She has been admitted to the burns ward in the Medical College Hospital.
Suffers shock
A KSEB employee, Thrivrithadhibhan, 38, of Kazhakkoottam, who was engaged in repair works on the Vizhinjam line on Wednesday, sustained injuries due to electric shock. He has been admitted to the MCH.
