Part-time lecturers' plea for regularisation
HYDERABAD,
NOV. 24.
The Andhra Pradesh Aided Colleges Temporary Lecturers' Association appealed to the Government to absorb part-time lecturers who have completed five years of service without any cut-off date by relaxing the existing rules.
M. Nagaraja, general secretary, in a press release on Wednesday said the part-time lectures were appointed as per GO 895 and were being paid a meagre salary of Rs. 1,440 per month for nine months in the academic year. They had crossed the age limit and could not get employment elsewhere. If the Government absorbed their services into the grant-in-aid scheme it would not be an additional burden as these posts were already sanctioned, Mr. Nagaraja said.
