Chief Minister reviews vigilance mechanism

HYDERABAD,
NOV. 24.
The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, reviewed the internal vigilance mechanism in the departments to prevent pilferage or leakage of revenues or wastage and misuse of funds on Wednesday.
Noting that some 59 vigilance cases were pending for more than five years, he asked the Chief Secretary, Mohan Kanda, to direct all the departments to act upon the reports of the Vigilance and Enforcement Department.
A press release of the CMO said Dr. Reddy congratulated the officials for detecting an evasion of Rs. 412 crores revenues and realising Rs. 128.6 crores in the current financial year.
The Director-General of the department, A.K. Mohanty, briefed the Chief Minister on the action initiated by the officials in pending cases and the proposals for upgradation of technology.
