Bishnoi sets new National record

HYDERABAD, NOV. 25. Rajender Bishnoi of Rajasthan set a new National record in the 3 km individual pursuit in the boys' under-18 category of the BSA National track cycling championships at the SAAP velodrome here on Thursday.

Bishnoi pedalled his way to victory, clocking 3m 49.62s. Surpreet Singh of Punjab came second. Incidentally, the Punjab lad also broke the old record, clocking 3m 53.15s. The old record stood in the name of Pradeep Singh Sandhu at 3m 56.72s.

The results: All finals: Men: 4-km individual pursuit: 1. Prabhjit Singh (Punjab Police) 5m 02.18s; 2. Rajender Bishnoi (Raj), 3. Raju Funda (SSSCB). 8-km mass start: 1. Probin Singh (RSPB); 2. Hitraj Singh (BSF); 3. Vimal Kumar (Raj).

Boys: Under-18: 3-km metre individual pursuit: 1. Bishnoi (Raj) (3m 49.62 sec NMR - OR : Pradeep Singh Sandhu - Pun - 3m 56.72s); 2. Surpreet Singh; 3. Manish Sawhney (Pun).

Under-18: Six km mass start: 1. Abhishek Rana (Pun); 2. Sweden (Andaman and Nicobar); 3. Ravinder Singh (Pun). Under-16: 1-km mass start: 1. Laxman Terdal (Kar); 2. Prasad Khairnar (Mah); 3.
