Purshottam Bal is dead
PUNE,
NOV. 25.
Former State tennis champion and father of Indian Davis Cupper Nandan Bal, Purshottam Narayan Bal, 89, passed away following a protracted illness here on Thursday.
Bal, a former captain of Pune University tennis team, retired as senior officer from the Life Insurance Corporation of India. The cremation was held at the Vaikunth crematorium in the city, family sources said.
Bal is survived by wife Manik, son Nandan and daughter Veena Pendse. — PTI
