Match industry's plea

SATTUR: The increase in price of match wax, an important raw material for match production, has affected the industry, the Sattur Chamber of Commerce and Industries has said. In a statement, it general secretary, P. T. K. A. Balasubramanian, said the price of type II and type III wax had been raised by Rs. 10 a kg to Rs. 42.75 and Rs. 36.30 respectively since April. Stating that the price of crude oil had come down recently and was expected to fall further, he said the increase in wax price was unwarranted. He sought the Prime Minister's intervention in reducing the cost of wax to help the match industry.
