Opening of road will harm Kashmir cause: Geelani
By Our Staff Reporter
SRINAGAR,
NOV. 25.
The chairman of the hardline faction of the All-Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, today strongly objected to the opening of roads as it would "harm the basic nature of the Kashmir cause."
Mr. Geelani who arrived here after holding talks with Pakistan said, "I know opening of the road would facilitate travel between the divided Kashmiris but it would harm the basic nature of the Kashmir cause. The root cause of the issue should be addressed to arrive at a solution."
On his differences with the Mirwaiz, Mr. Geelani said, "I cannot deny that there is no difference. " He elaborated that his faction is not against talks but it should be held only when the Centre shows flexibility.
