CHITTOOR, NOV. 25. The Deputy Director, Social Welfare, Raghuram said that the Government enhanced the scholarship amount for SC students doing degree, MBA, Engineering, MCA, MBBS and other courses from Rs. 524 to Rs.740 per month from this academic year Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said this enhancement would benefit 8,667 students in 178 colleges in the district. A sum of Rs. 354 lakhs has been paid towards scholarships to the students so far. Another Rs. 208.83 lakhs has been released by the Government towards this, he said.
