KARIMNAGAR, NOV. 25. The Bharatiya Janata Party State president, N. Indrasena Reddy, has demanded the Government to register a criminal case and arrest the senior IPS officer, Anjana Sinha, who is accused of possessing illegally the weapons surrendered by an aide of the Telugu Desam Party legislator, Paritala Ravindra. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday evening, Mr. Indrasena Reddy alleged that the Government was trying to shield the accused and planning to project her as `innocent'. He alleged that Ms. Anjana Sinha had encouraged the `contract encounters' in the State. There was no need for inquiry into the case as it was already proved, he said. With regard to the diversion of SRSP waters to NTPC, Ramagundam denying water to farmers, he asked the Government to chalk out a plan to release water and ensure additional power to the State from the NTPC for using water from the SRSP. He also suggested the Government to construct the Yellampalli project in such a manner to stabilise the SRSP ayacut. The BJP leader alleged that the arrest of Kanchi seer, Jayendra Saraswathi was politically motivated to tarnish the image of Hindu religion in the country. He flayed the Government for arresting the seer hastily on the night of Diwali from Andhra Pradesh when the case was three months old. Expressing concern over prevailing drought conditions, he demanded the Government to implement the drought manual to benefit farmers, who had availed of insurance schemes, in all drought declared mandals.
