MRPS sets deadline for categorisation

NOV. 25.
The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) has set December 10 deadline to the State Government for taking a decision on categorisation of Scheduled Castes.
The samithi, which has organised a rally and a public meeting in the city in support of its demand, said that if there is no response from the Government, a `massive demonstration' by students would be staged in front of the Legislative Assembly building in Hyderabad.
The president of MRPS, Krishna Madiga, told a press conference here on Thursday that he had been touring the State since November 16 to educate Madigas on the issue of categorisation. "We would not plead the Government but confront it on this demand,'' he said.
