Communal harmony vital for democracy: YSR

HYDERABAD,
NOV. 25.
The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has stressed on communal harmony, saying it is essential for national integration and development.
After offering his personal donation on the occasion of Flag Day at the Secretariat on Thursday, Dr Reddy said in a multi-religious and multi-lingual society mutual trust and harmony would play a vital role in strengthening democracy.
The Hyderabad Collector, Arvind Kumar, who received the donation, said they were helping four children who lost their parents during communal riots, with Rs. 650 per month. The Tourism Minister, J. Geetha Reddy, was present along with District Revenue Officer, P. Dinakar Babu.
Later, the delegation led by the Collector received the donation from the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, Devinder Gupta.
