KOCHI, NOV. 25. Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) Limited has announced another round of the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). This is aimed at around 1,000 employees who are considered surplus. It is learnt that the FACT management has not immediately sought any money from the Centre for the purpose. The VRS offer is open for two months during which employees will be allowed to make their choice. More than 900 employees retired in the third round of VRS that ended in February this year. The terms and conditions of the third round are applicable this time too, sources said today. FACT has reduced around 1,500 employees through three voluntary retirement offers. At present, it has a total employee strength of 4,350. It is expected that at least 200 employees will opt for voluntary retirement this time.
