It's saffron wave in Rajasthan too

JAIPUR, NOV. 25 .The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Rajasthan has managed to win majority of wards in more than 18 civic bodies out of the 45 which went to polls the other day. The main Opposition in the State, the Congress even while retaining its majority in the prestigious Jodhpur municipal corporation, had to be contented with a clear majority only in half a dozen bodies.

The BJP tally includes the Jaipur and Kota municipal corporations held by it previously. The party has a clear majority in 18 of the civic bodies and two corporations while it emerged the single largest party in nine others.

The Congress has a clear majority in five civic bodies and in one corporation while it is the largest party in four others.

Independents have a majority in five civic bodies. In Shivganj municipality in Sirohi district, both the BJP and the Congress have won an equal number of nine seats while two seats have gone to Independents.

The Communist Party of India(Marxist) has won from five wards(2 in Sikar, one each in Sriganganagar, Udaipur and Suratgarh). The Bahujan Samaj Party has bagged one ward in Alwar municipality and the Nationalist Congress Party, one in Nimbhakheda.
