Central Secretariat, RSB in final

HYDERABAD, NOV. 25. Central Secretariat, Delhi and RSB, Jaipur moved into the team championship final of the all-India Civil Services tennis tournament at the SAAP Tennis Complex here on Thursday.

Central Secretariat defeated RSB Hyderabad 2-0 and RSB scored an identical win over CS Andhra Pradesh.

The results:

Team event: semifinals: Central Secretariat, Delhi bt RSB, Hyderabad 2-0 (V. Shankar bt Ali Sajjad 6-4, 6-7, 6-1; Md. Nasir bt Md. Waheed 6-4, 3-6, 6-4). RSB, Jaipur bt CS, AP 2-0 (Laxmikanth Tanwar bt K. Praveen Kumar 6-1, 6-1; Jagdish Talwar bt Anand Swaroop 6-1, 6-1).

Veterans singles: first round: M. Suresh bt Alok Sax 8-2, Rajan Gopalan bt P.P. Thakkar 8-3, Tapas Sengupta bt Praveen Kumar 8-2, R.K. Sahukar bt B. Balakishan 8-0, G. Chandrasekhar bt A.
