Santhosh sets new mark

MYSORE, NOV. 25. H.S. Santhosh of Mysore set a new meet record in the men's shotput by throwing 15.33 metres, erasing the 12-year old record set by H.A. Iekram on the concluding day of the 76th Mysore University inter-collegiate athletic championships here on Thursday

.The results:(Winners only): Men: 400m: S. Bharath (Yuvaraja's College-52.56s); 1500m: M.D. Manjunath (GFGC, Arkalgud - 4:19.36s). Half marathon: V. Srinivas (University Evening College: 1hr: 18:05.37s). Long jump: Y.S. Nagendra (MC-6.42m.). Shotput: H.S. Santhosh (Basudeva Somani FGC-NMR-15.33m - OR: H.A. Iekram-JSS MC-14.63). Decathlon: M.H. Srinivas (PGSC MG - 3366 pts.). 4x100m relay: Yuvaraja's College (46.61s). Individual Championship: H.S. Santhosh (B. Somani FGC) and M.D. Manjunath (GFGC, Arkalgud, 21 points each). Team Championship: PG Sports Council, Manasagangotri, Mysore-67 points.

Women: 400m: K.K. Poornima (TC-63.39s); 5000m: B.S. Veena (TC-19:55.81s); 10,000m: M. Radha (Marimallappa's WC-43:05.28s); 4x100m relay: PG Sports Council, Mysore (56.21s).

Individual champion: Diana Jayalin D'souza (PG Sports Council, Manasagangotri, Mysore-24 points). Team Championship: Teresian College for Women, Mysore-107 points.
