NEW DELHI, NOV. 25. The Union Home Secretary, Dhirender Singh, today inaugurated a new Single Window Complaints Enquiry Cell at Delhi Police Headquarters in Central Delhi. The cell would facilitate information on the status of complaints by the public. Unveiling the plaque of the cell, Mr. Singh commended the police for bringing in transparency and enhanced supervision through the use of computers. The Complaints Monitoring and Tracking System comprises a computerised network which connects officers of and above the level of Deputy Commissioner of Police with Police Headquarters. As per the system, details of the complaints will be fed into the computers at various locations and diverted to the data bank for storage and regular updates. Each complaint would be numbered and monitored by senior police officers to ensure that necessary action is taken fast. Through this network, the police personnel will get access to personnel information system, status of the cases in the courts and even analysis of crime trends in different parts of the Capital. Also, they will come to know about the status of their applications for loans or medical bills without wasting much time in tracking their applications. The police are planning to introduce more applications in the system on police station level for smooth functioning.
