Temperature

MADURAI, NOV. 25. The city today registered a maximum temperature of 30.2 degree Celsius and a minimum of 22.9 degree Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Periyar dam stood at 130.4 feet with an inflow of 649 cusecs and a discharge of 900 cusecs.

The level in the Vaigai dam was 67.39 feet with an inflow of 1,576 cusecs and a discharge of 2,440 cusecs.

The combined Periyar credit was 7,555 mcft.

Madurai recorded 1.8 mm of rainfall.

Train

detained

The Mysore-Tuticorin Express suffered a 30-minute detention near the Sholavandan railway station in the Madurai division today owing to a welding failure on the track.

According to railway sources, the Irumbadi village headman, Muthukaman, noticed the welding failure and alerted the local railway personnel.

Consequently, train was made to go at a slow speed. Engineering department staff attended to the snag and restored normal traffic.
