THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 25. The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Hareendranath, today granted bail to Chandy Behanan, who was arrested after two bullets were found in his baggage during an X-ray examination at the international airport here on Monday. Chandy was about to board a flight for Muscat when he was detained by the security personnel. He was held on the charge of violating the Arms Act and handed over to the Valiyathura police.
Drunken driving
The City police today registered cases against 15 persons for drunken driving, against 166 persons for rash driving and 95 persons for causing public nuisance as part of part of an ongoing drive. As many as 20 wanted persons and the accused in five crime cases were arrested in the course of the drive. Inspections were carried out in 41 lodges in the city and action taken against 32 strangers who were found staying there. Abkari raids were also conducted at six places.
