THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 25. The City police have arrested two persons from Pallithura in the Thumba police station limits in connection with the kidnapping of a 28-year-old woman from Nagercoil. According to the Sub Inspector, Thumba, R. Purushothaman, John Bosco, 33, a resident of Pallithura, and Prakash, 30, native of Kamukincode near Athiyanoor, were the accused. The accused were arrested by the Thumba police from a house on St. Andrew Lane on Wednesday afternoon following a tip-off from local residents. The woman had been confined in the house. Police said Bosco had kidnapped the woman from Nagercoil three days ago and put her in a house on St. Andrew Lane, Pallithura. Prakash had attempted to kidnap the woman while she was in the custody of John Bosco. He was arrested by the police while attempting the same. A hunt is on for three persons who were with Prakash. The woman, who is married to an NRI, was produced before the Magistrate and allowed to go with her mother and brother. John Bosco and Prakash was produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate II and remanded to judicial custody.
