GUNTUR, NOV.25. The Commissioner of Guntur Municipal Corporation, D. Rama Rao, on Thursday, handed over two cheques, each for Rs. 2 lakhs, to the nominees of UTI Bank's customers who died in accidents. The amount was given to them under the bank's accident insurance scheme, said the assistant vice-president of the bank, K. Srinivasa Rao. Lauding the scheme, the Commissioner wanted the bank to popularise the scheme so as to benefit a larger section of people. Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that all customers, who opened an account with the UTI Bank would get a debit card which automatically would cover them for an accident insurance of Rs. 2 lakhs.
