KOCHI, NOV. 25. This year's Navy Week celebrations will begin with the Naval hospital INHS Sanjivani organising a free medical camp at the St. Peter's High School in Kumbalangi on Sunday morning. INHS Sanjivani has a organises many medical camps in different places. Over 900 patients attended the last medical camp it organised at the Win Centre, Eramalloor. INHS Sanjivani, commissioned in 1958 as a 75-bed hospital, has grown over the years. It now has 313 beds, including 12 beds for the Coast Guard. Twenty additional beds have been kept aside for emergency purpose. INHS Sanjivani is now the biggest service hospital in the State and has all major specialities catering to serving personnel, ex-servicemen community and families in and around Kochi. It is also the Armed Forces referral centre for Kerala. Specialists in medicine, surgery, gynaecology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, ENT, dentistry and dermatology will be available for consultation at the medical camp. Facilities for checking random blood sugar and ECG will be available at the camp, said Cdr. Manohar Nambiar, Public Relations Officer for Defence Services. Gita Rani Bangara, president of the Navy Wives Welfare Association, Southern Region, will inaugurate the camp.
