KOCHI, NOV. 25. The fifth international conference of the Somatic Inkblot Society will begin here tomorrow. The three-day conference is being organised by the Somatic Inkblot Society and the School of Behavioural Sciences of Mahatma Gandhi University. One hundred and fifty psychologists from across the world are expected for the meet. Somatic Inkblot Series (SIS) is a psychological method to assess one's personality. According to B.L. Dubey, vice-president of the Society who introduced SIS in the country in 1988, it is a projective, diagnostic procedure that is an extension of psychotherapy and counselling. SIS is now widely used in personality assessment, diagnosis and in therapeutic interventions. Other applications of the test include screening of candidates for military and law enforcement agencies.
