KOCHI, NOV. 25. The eighth International Book Fair will be held from December 3 to 12 at the Ernakulathappan Ground. One hundred and sixty publications and organisations from various parts of the country have confirmed participation. The best book will be chosen from those published during 2003-04 and the Balamaniamma Puraskaram for a poet's comprehensive work will be given away, said E.N. Nandakumar, general convener of the fair. The Governor, R.L. Bhatia, is expected to inaugurate the fair. The United Grants Commission vice-chairman, V.N. Rajasekhara Pillai, and the MLA K.V. Thomas are expected to participate. Cultural and scientific competitions, seminars on 150th Gurudeva Jayanti and on women, youth and the media and a poets' meet will also be organised.
