NEW DELHI, NOV. 25. The occupants of a car, who were found videographing the high-security residence of the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, here today, gave some anxious moments to security agencies before the vehicle was tracked down hours later. Security personnel, including the Special Protection Group, went into a tizzy after the car was spotted outside 10 Janpath, with its occupants taking video shots of the complex. Before the security personnel could react, the car sped away, prompting an alert for tracking down the vehicle. After hours of hunt, police traced the car and detained its occupants Sadanand Federick, an assistant town planner of Jalgaon in Maharashtra, his wife and children. They were let off after thorough questioning which showed that they had no nefarious intentions, police sources said.

Mr. Federick, along with his family, arrived in Delhi on Wednesday and checked in a hotel in Paharganj. He rented the car and went around the city, taking video-shots of various places, including Ms. Gandhi's residence. During questioning, he said that since there was no signage indicating that photography was prohibited, he did not consider it an illegal act. PTI
