BANGALORE, NOV. 26. Cinema buffs have a reason to rejoice. PVR Cinemas, a leading cinema chain, in association with the Prestige Group, unveiled a multiplex with 11 screens here today. With a seating capacity of 2,019, the multiplex has been designed to meet international standards. The multiplex includes two `ultra-premium cinema halls' called Gold Class and two `luxurious auditoria' called Cinema Europa in addition to seven `classic auditoria.' An exclusive Gold Class lounge provides a `pre-cinema experience' with scrumptious food and beverage.
PVR Cinemas lauded
Delivering the inaugural address, the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, lauded the efforts of PVR Cinemas in bringing this state-of-the-art technology to Bangalore. The multiplex should abide by the sentiments of Kannadigas and screen Kannada films also. It should promote films in all languages, he said.
Major investment destination
The managing director of PVR Cinemas, Ajay Bijli, said Bangalore was one of the major investment destinations for leading Indian and foreign companies. "Hence, we hope to delight the people of the city with world-class cinema experience," he added. Films such as Shark Tale, Mughal-E-Azam, Dodge Ball, Vaasthu Shastra, Nalla, SYE, Troy, Bride and Prejudice, Terminal, Choker Bali, Laws of Attraction, Dhoom, Collateral, King Arthur and 13 going on 30 will be part of inaugural screening.
Future plans
The future plans of PVR Cinemas include opening five- and eight-screen multiplexes at Juhu and Mulund in Mumbai and a five-screen multiplex in Hyderabad.
