MANIPAL, NOV. 26. Ananda Rao, general manager of Windsor Sheraton, Bangalore, said on Friday that all organisations should strive for excellence and maintaining quality. He was speaking at the valedictory of a seminar on `Biscuit processing technology' organised by the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration and the American Institute of Baking, here. Mr. Rao said "get better or get beaten" should be the motto. If innovations were not encouraged, then products became obsolete. The challenge was to build a brand. Best practices of rival organisations should be emulated. Y.G. Tharakan, Head of the Department of Food and Beverage Management of the school, welcomed the gathering. Raj Kapoor, Chief Executive of ASSOCOM India Pvt. Ltd., proposed a vote of thanks. Jeffrey A. Zeak, Senior Instructor and Pilot Plant Manager of the American Institute of Baking, and B.N. Kaul, Chief Administrator of the school, were present. A book, "A Guide to Food and Beverage Appetising with Questions and Answers", written by Prof. Tharakan, was released by David Longworth, Vice-President of Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, the release added.
