SIRSI, NOV. 27. A landslip at the Sharavati Valley has caused concern at the Jog Falls and surrounding areas, according to reports reaching here today. The landslip is said to have occurred close to the Jog Falls and in between the Mahatma Gandhi Power Generation Station and A.B. Site. A hydel power project was proposed to be set up at the site. What has caused concern among people is that the stone formation at the valley is said to be very strong and it was believed that a landslip could never occur in the area. Geologists should survey the area and a report should be prepared in this regard, K.G. Manohar, President of the Kargal Gram Panchayat, said.
