Geelani hardens position

By Our Staff Reporter

SRINAGAR, NOV. 27. The chairman of the Tehreek-ul-Hurriyat, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, has hardened his position and said that he would ally only with those committed to the constitution of the Hurriyat when it was formed.

Mr. Geelani said: "The constitution of the Hurriyat should form the basis of unity efforts. A constitution was framed to uphold the Hurriyat structure. Anybody who accepts it will find the doors of our hearts open."

Two days ago, the Mirwaiz attacked Mr. Geelani for adopting a rigid approach and confirmed that the unity efforts started by him had almost failed.
