MUMBAI, NOV. 27. Mahindra & Mahindra will acquire 51 per cent stake in the proposed joint venture company SAR Transmission Pvt. Ltd. (STPL) to strengthen its presence in the gear components business. The consideration for the acquisition would be arrived at the closing of the transaction, M&M informed the Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai today. STPL is a joint venture between M&M and SAR Auto Products Ltd, would strengthen the presence of the company in the gear components business globally and also provide a base for sourcing its own gears, it said.
