NALGONDA, NOV.27. The State Government has decided to fill 300 hostel warden posts and construct 85 residential school buildings at a cost of Rs.170 crores this year. Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, the Minister for Social Welfare, Redya Naik, said the services of 1,439 contract teachers working in the Social Welfare schools for the last seven years would be regularised soon and another 2,500 posts filled at any cost. Mr. Naik announced that special courts would be established in 15 districts to dispose of cases filed under the SC, STs Atrocities Prevention Act. The Minister said the Congress Government had released sufficient funds to grant scholarships for the students till December. "As there is no dearth of funds, we are ready to meet all your demands. Don't bring bad name to the Government by stopping the scholarships,'' he earlier told the officials at a review meeting. He further said that Rs.250 crores was allotted to give post matric scholarships for 3.5 lakh SC and ST students. Mr. Naik said that the Government had sanctioned an additional Rs.60 crores for Social Welfare Ministry and another Rs.110 crores for tribal welfare.
