NEW DELHI, NOV. 27. Attempting to spread the message of communal harmony, Generation X is about to "Rock the Nation''. Engaging the younger generation to "sing'' the language of peace and secularism, a concert, `Rock the Nation' is being organised at the National Stadium here this coming Monday. Participating in the concert will be 11 youth bands from the Capital, each with a new song on peace and harmony. Interestingly, the new songs have to be composed and sung by the bands themselves. "We are always looking for newer ways to engage the younger generation in thinking along these lines. If nothing else, we have at least got 60 young people thinking about peace and harmony. More than that, they will be keeping this as part of their song book. So they will always be singing them at other concerts and reach out to a much wider spectrum,'' says Shabnam Hashmi of Anhad, the non-government organisation behind the event. The participating bands include Alter Ego, Brain Dead Schizi, Descant, Hell Bound Harmony, Illusion, Nash, Nomade, Paradigm Shift, Prestorika, The Supperfuzz Bigmuff and Xipation 441.
