BANGALORE, NOV. 27. Vijaya Bank won the Association Cup, the premier State basketball championship, with a 68-59 victory over archrival, HAL Sports Club, in the final league tie here on Saturday. Former Indian skipper, B.S. Goutham tied for the top score with HAL's Sachindra, both finishing with 25 points apiece. Vijaya Bank's win, in fact, ensured a three-way tie for the top spot with three teams Vijaya Bank, HAL and MEG finishing with a record of two wins and one loss. The tie was broken applying the quotient rule (points for divided by points against) and Vijaya Bank, with a quotient of 1.026549, emerged on top, followed by HAL (1.00752) and MEG (0.966389).
