TDP leader decries YSR's remarks

By Our Correspondent

MAHABUBNAGAR, NOV. 27. The Telugu Desam Party Polit Bureau member and former Minister, P. Chandrasekhar, took objection to the reported comments of the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who termed `Vision 2020' of the then TDP Government as `420' in his speeches at various places in Mahabunagar district on Friday.

Speaking to reporters here at TDP office on Saturday, Mr. Chandrasekhar said that the comments of Dr. Reddy would boomerang on him as he has `hoodwinked' the people of the State with false poll promises such as free power to the agriculture sector, hike in old age pensions and 90 per cent subsidy to drip irrigation.

Mr. Chandrasekhar alleged that Dr. Reddy himself proved to be a `420' by laying foundation stones and performing bhoomi pooja to the on going Nettempadu, Kalwakurthy and Bheema irrigation projects on Friday.

He said that it was ridiculous on the part of Dr. Reddy to lay foundation stone for projects which were taken up by the Telugu Desam Government in 2003 itself by allocating sufficient funds.

Dr. Reddy should use dignified language while speaking against his political rivals or else people would teach him a lesson, Mr. Chandrasekhar added.
