PUTTUR, NOV. 27. A police team led by the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Puttur sub-division, A.S. Rao, raided different premises in Kadaba police station limits on Thursday and seized adulterated petrol and diesel valued at Rs. 25,600. Two persons were arrested in this connection. The police raided a house at Kalara and seized adulterated petroleum products valued at Rs. 18,000. The accused, however, managed to escape. They raided a room at Kadaba where they seized adulterated products valued at Rs. 2,025 and arrested Vignesh. A raid on a shop yielded adulterated petroleum products valued at Rs. 5,575. The police arrested Hameed in this connection.
Held
Abubackar (38) of Moodbidri was arrested on Saturday while he was reportedly roaming around in a suspicious manner. Investigation is on.
Suicide
Lalitha (48), a housewife, ended her life by reportedly hanging herself at her house in Mani village in Vittla Police Station limits. The police said the victim was dejected in life following the demise of her husband four months ago. A case has been registered.
