HYDERABAD, NOV. 27. It was a dream come true for five children suffering from haemophilia and thalassemia. They got to meet the hero of their dreams, megastar Chiranjeevi, in flesh and blood. And the happiness of the overawed children knew no bounds.
New hope
Forgetting their pain, the kids savoured the moment shaking hands and talking with the star at the Annapurna Studios where he was shooting for a film. "His warmth overwhelmed the children and gave them hope and strength for the future," said Madhumati Chukkapalli, Programme Director, Make A Wish Foundation, which translated the dream of the children to meet their hero, a reality. "It was wonderful watching Chiranjeevi play with the kids," she said, adding that the onus was on everyone to create some special moments for children suffering from life-threatening ailments. "Giving them a reason to smile is the least we can do for them," she affirmed.
