Visakhapatnam
VISAKHAPATNAM, NOV. 27. A proposal to conduct roadshows in metros and other cities to attract tourists to the port city during the next Visakha Utsav was approved at a preparatory meeting for the festival at the Collectorate on Saturday. The Minister for Commercial Taxes, Konathala Ramakrishna, who took part in the meeting favoured a number of festival venues in and around the city, besides Bhimili and Araku, and said ethnic food of the region should be highlighted. Though no firm date was fixed for the festival, it was agreed that it should be conducted before February next. The district Collector, Praveen Prakash, the Vice-Chairman and Special Officer of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority, D. Sreenivasulu, the Municipal Commissioner, N. Srikanth, and the AP Tourism Officer, Panduranga Rao, participated.
